2018 Research Symposium
Dr. Brian Goldman, Physician/Broadcaster/Author
“The Power of Kindness – Why Empathy is Essential in our Everyday Lives”
Our full Speakers Program
We’re delighted that our Keynote Speaker is Dr. Brian Goldman, a veteran Emergency Room Physician, Broadcaster, and Author of the new book The Power of Kindness – Why Empathy is Essential in our Everyday Lives. As it says on his website: “He always believed that caring came naturally to physicians. But time, stress, errors, and heavy expectations left him wondering if he might not be the same caring doctor he thought he was at the beginning of his career. He wondered what kindness truly looks like—in himself and in others.” That thought led him on a journey – to rediscover his own compassion – and the people he met around the world who proved to him that there is, in fact, power in kindness.
Dr. Goldman’s talk will launch us into two days of stimulating talks from the leading edge of psychology, neurology, sociology and our understanding of empathy – all of which feed our understanding of children’s well-being and development.
Registration price includes full lunch and snacks during both days.
We will also have a pop-up bookstore at the Symposium where you can pick up our Roots of Empathy books – you can check them out at our online bookstore!
